PROGRAMS
RSC Tech Clubs
To achieve our goal of “effecting change” RSC has established tech clubs in schools and community centers in Trinidad and Tobago and the region including Grenada, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Jamaica, Belize, Bahamas and Antigua. Tech clubs are used as conduits for training in different areas of technology including Animation, Apps/ Web and Games development, Coding, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, IOT, Social Media, Digital Media Students participate in both synchronous and asynchronous training.
RSC provides tech support for a number of different government ministries, NGOs and humanitarian organizations. RSC has been the technology partner for CAPSS, the Caribbean Association of Principals of Secondary Schools since 2017. RSC is also the tech partner for APPSS (the association of Principals of Public Secondary Schools) and NAPSPA (National Primary Schools Principals Association) of Trinidad and Tobago.
Event Management
RSC has managed many events including Hackathons, Career Fairs, Graduation ceremonies and Retirement Celebrations in virtual, Hybrid and face to face formats. RSC has also managed the CAPSS Biennial Conferences in 2019 (face to face), 2021 (Virtual) and 2023 (face to face).
Peer to Peer Support
RSC facilitates peer to peer support for students across the Caribbean by linking mentors (honor students taking a gap year) with protegees (Struggling students writing both CSEC and CAPE examinations).
Academic Support
RSC provides free academic support for students writing CSEC and CAPE examinations by providing past paper solutions in various subject areas including Mathematics and Food and Nutrition where solutions are backed with explanations.
Webinars
RSC hosted webinars including Thoughtful Thursdays for CAPSS (Caribbean Association of Principals of Secondary Schools and weekly series for ABCD (Arts By Creative Design).
E-Waste
A huge part of RSC’s activities includes collection and refurbishment of used computer systems and donating working systems to groups and organizations that are in need.
Carbon Sequestration
RSC attempts to make all our training Carbon Zero initiatives by encouraging all participants to plant a tree.
Project R.I.D.E.
Restore A Sense of I Can (RSC) embarked on an e-waste project with support from the GEF SGP UNDP. In April 2017, RSC launched the R.I.D.E. (Reduction of Indiscriminate Dumping of E-waste) project which seeks to educate the public at large using school based RSC IT clubs, on the dangers of indiscriminate dumping of hazardous material and e-waste.
Plastic Tide Turners
The Plastic Tide Turners Challenge gives students the opportunity to fight plastic pollution and make the environment healthier by understanding how plastic consumption affects every corner of the world. The Challenge allows them to take action against pollution and change your plastic consumption habits.
Training and Capacity Building
RSC does sessions in Training and Capacity Building and it plays a pivotal role in empowering individuals and groups across various sectors. We are dedicated to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of individuals, teams, and communities, thereby enabling them to achieve their goals more effectively and make a lasting impact.
